Do you run business workshops and seminars in the library?

What business databases does the library subscribe to?
Exeter Library’s Business and Information hub has a range of resources to help you start and run your business. This includes a range of the most recent business publications on topics from Start Ups to dealing with HR issues, copies of the British Library’s Industry Information Guides, and factsheets from the Intellectual Property Office.
Devon Libraries also offer a range of FREE online resources to support businesses. Some are available from the comfort of your own home and others in Exeter Library itself, where friendly, knowledgeable staff will be able to guide you through how to find the best information for you and your business. These include COBRA (an online business information resource that contains over a thousandsmall business factsheets, guides and sector-specific reports) and Mint (quality information covering companies, news, directors and market research).
How do I get funding to start my business?
Exeter Library has subscriptions to online databases that can give you advice on funding your business idea. The Business and Information Hub also stocks specialist books on all funding options, from grants to loans, and how to apply for these.
Exeter Library’s programme of events may also feature seminars and workshops that offer help and advice on funding.
I’d like to create a business plan – where do I start?
Exeter Library has many resources to help you create a Business Plan. Our Business and Information Champions will be happy to point you in the right direction.

Do you provide (free) legal advice?
Local solicitors Kitsons provide a free legal surgery on the third Wedenesday of every month in the library, between 1.00pm and 3.00pm.
Kitsons offer 30 minute, no obligation consultations on a variety of issues. Visit the library on the day, or to avoid disappoitment, make an appointment by calling Charlie Siegle at Kitsons on 01392 455555.
