Blue Badge
The Blue Badge Scheme helps severely disabled people by letting them park close to their destination. The badge holder can be the driver or a passenger.
Bus pass
The National Bus Pass entitles older people and those with certain disabilities to free off-peak travel on local buses anywhere in England. If you can only use the bus with the help of a companion they can also have a bus pass to travel with you.
Railcards
The Senior Railcard and the Disabled Persons Railcard offer 1/3 off rail fares for eligible passengers. Apply for a Senior Railcard through Devon County Council to save 20% off the usual price.
Community transport
Community Transport is provided by a network of voluntary organisations that help people get to the shops, services, medical appointments or leisure activities where no alternative or suitable transport is available.
Motability
The Motability Scheme allows people with a disability to use their mobility allowance to lease a car, scooter or powered wheelchair.
Scooters and powered wheelchairs
If you struggle with walking a scooter or powered wheelchair may help you to get around. Visit the Independent Living Centre to find out about the range of products available, have the chance to try some out and get information about prices and suppliers.
