Education, training and employment

When you have decided on a career path, you need to look at education and training courses that will support you in achieving this. All young people need to stay in education or training until they are 18. This does not necessarily mean school but can mean any of the following:

  • full time education, for example, school or college
  • an apprenticeship or traineeship
  • or part time education or training combined with either employment (or self-employment) for 20 hours or more a week or volunteering for 20 hours or more a week.

There are also lots of options for pursuing employment. We provide useful links and information about the support and pathways on offer for young people with SEND.
