Have you registered to vote?

The next whole Devon County Council elections will take place on 4 May 2017. For the chance to have your say, you need to be registered to vote.

You can register online at GOV.UK – Register to vote or contact your local district council.

The deadline for registering to vote in these elections is 13 April 2017.

Traditionally Devon has higher than national average turnout, however the average turnout went down to 33% in 2013 County Council elections, from almost 44% voting in 2009 and 67% voting in 2005. Love your vote – don’t lose it!

About my Vote has further information about why you should vote, the different ways you can do it and where you can do it.

The organisation of the elections is done on the County Council’s behalf by Devon’s city, borough and district councils. The County Returning Officer, who is the County Solicitor, appoints Deputy Returning Officers, who are senior District Council staff to administer the process within their respective districts on her behalf.
