What you said:
As a working-class family, our struggle is simply to feed our children… Things may look fine on the outside, but we have no spare money and we dread the next food or utility bill…
Our Focus…
To give extra help and support to vulnerable people and families disproportionately affected by the pandemic or struggling to cope with poverty, inequality and the emerging cost-of-living crisis
We will do this by
- Implementing the strategy for providing domestic abuse support in safe accommodation.
- Developing local support networks to reduce food and fuel poverty.
- Working as part of the Team Devon Housing Task Force to address the affordability and availability of housing.
- Developing a co-ordinated approach to tackling child poverty.
- Promoting services that increase resilience, self-reliance and independence.
How we will measure our impact
- Reductions in the numbers of: long term unemployed people; individuals with a complex need claiming Universal Credit; number of young people / older people claiming UC.
- Reduced number of individuals with a disability and other barriers to employment in work.
- An increase in positive feedback from families and partners.
- An increase in Early Help referrals and a corresponding decrease in referrals to the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub and social care services.
