In common with all local authorities, the Council faces a range of operational and strategic risks.
Risk management is the systematic application of principles and processes to identify and assess risks, along with the planning and implementation of responses.
The Audit Committee reviews risks, and the current primary corporate risks are:
- all risks associated with supporting special educational needs and disabilities and the young people this service area supports
- the risk to the health, safety and well-being of Devon County Council’s members, staff and representatives including hate crime, harassment and abuse
- the risk of cyber security in protecting the Council’s digital data and operational resilience
