Welcome to the official webpage from Devon County Council on the Drake Line Railway. The Drake Line project is the planned re-opening of the former railway that connects Tavistock and Bere Alston and the construction of multi-use trails linking into the wider Tamar Valley area.
The project encompasses the re-instatement of over 5 miles of former rail trackbed that was closed in 1968. Due to the length of the track to be rebuilt the scheme is categorised as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) and requires permission from the Secretary of State for Transport.
