You said, we did: Education, health and care (EHC) plans

We would like to see reduced waiting times and much better quality intervention.
We did
We undertook a discovery and design piece of work, including extensive working with families and professional to identify opportunities to improve pace and quality. This was used to develop an in-house digital system, SATURN, designed to meet needs and streamline EHC needs assessment processes.
A new EHC plan QA framework was signed off by the SEND Strategic Partnership Board, and Level 1 peer audits of all new EHC plans have been happening since June 2024. Level 1 audits by the Assessment Service Manager and Team Managers started at the beginning of November.
Parent carer feedback surveys for each part of the EHC needs assessment and annual review processes have been reviewed and updated. They are now available on the EHC Hub and links are included in all correspondence related to the processes. Feedback provided will be reviewed and analysed on a quarterly basis and used to identify best practice that can be shared and opportunities for improvement. We will be feeding the results back to the team and into the SEND Boards, and using the information to monitor the impact of improvement actions taken.
We are doing
Work on SATURN continues, to introduce a similar streamlining of the annual review process.
Level 2 multi-agency audits of new EHC plans to be scheduled in, to start from January 2025.
