Use the EHC Hub
Although you don’t have to use the EHC Hub to submit a request, we recommend that you do so as it’s the easiest way to make sure you submit all the information we need.
The Hub is the central online resource for seeing exactly what’s happening and what information has been provided by those involved in the assessment.
You’ll also be able to see information around timescales so that you can keep track of when the main parts of the process should be started and finished.
Once your request has been processed, you will receive an email asking you to register on the Hub.
It’s okay if you can’t complete a section of the form, just complete the sections that you can. We may still ask you for a lot of the information on the form to help with our decision-making. If you need help to fill in the form, you can ask DiAS to help you.

If you’re unable to use the EHC Hub
If you’re not comfortable with using the Hub you can also submit a request for assessment by:
- posting it to SEND Statutory Team Team, Room L102, County Hall, Topsham Road, Exeter, EX2 4QD
- emailing specialeducation@devon.gov.uk
- phoning 01392 380434 (option 1). Phone lines will be open 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
Important information about your assessment will be shared on the Hub so if you’re not using it, a member of the SEND Statutory Team will send it to you by email or post instead.
