Around 16% of all children in Devon have some kind of special educational need or disability (SEND). Most children with SEND can go to their local mainstream school or setting.
All schools must:
- make reasonable adjustments for disabled children
- prevent discrimination and promote equality
- support pupils with medical conditions.
If your child can’t attend school for medical reasons, read Devon County Council’s Education for Children with Medical Needs policy.
