Coronavirus (COVID-19)

We would like to reassure you that we are closely monitoring the situation and working with the government and NHS.

For guidance on coronavirus and the latest information for Devon, visit Devon County Council’s coronavirus (COVID-19) advice pages.

Education

Around 16% of all children in Devon have some kind of special educational need or disability (SEND). Most children with SEND can go to their local mainstream school or setting.

All schools must:

  • make reasonable adjustments for disabled children
  • prevent discrimination and promote equality
  • support pupils with medical conditions.

If your child can’t attend school for medical reasons, read Devon County Council’s Education for Children with Medical Needs policy.
