Make your Mark is the largest issue-based youth vote in Europe. In Devon we run the vote every year so that the Devon Youth Council can find out the top issue for local young people and campaign for change here in Devon.
If you are aged 11-19 (up to 25 with SEND) this is your opportunity to have your say, and it only takes a few minutes!
The issues you can vote for
- Our future – I believe that all young people in Devon should have equal access to education and work opportunities as we grow up, whatever our situation.
- Inclusion – I believe that no young person should be left out or bullied because others don’t understand. Education about difference and simple changes to schools/ colleges are key to our inclusion.
- Public transport – I believe that regular, affordable and accessible public transport should be available to all young people in Devon regardless of where we live or our circumstances.
- Mental health support – I believe appropriate and timely support and understanding should be available to all young people in Devon during times of distress.
- Places to go, things to do – I believe that all young people in Devon should have affordable activities and places in our local areas – somewhere to go with friends for fun, relaxation and to try new things.
- Vaping and smoking – I believe that there should be more education and understanding about vaping and smoking for different age groups in Devon.
- The environment – I believe that more action should be taken on pollution in Devon – in the sea, rivers and in our local areas.
- Crime and safety – I believe that there should be more action to reduce crime in Devon and to help young people feel safe out and about in our communities.
- Healthy relationships – I believe that there should be more support and education for young people in Devon around positive friendships and relationships – how to resolve conflict at home and with friends.
- Poverty and inequality – I believe that poverty is causing long-term problems and stress in our Devon communities, all young people should have equal access to health, housing and leisure options.
