Participation strategy

“A Devon shaped with young people that works for and meets the needs of young people”

Our Youth Participation Strategy sets out what meaningful participation is, whose responsibility it is, and how we will know that we are getting participation right. The approach has been co-produced with Devon young people and is based on the Lundy Model of Participation. This strategy should be used to influence and shape team plans.

“Being listened to and being an important part of decisions will help to improve our lives and will help to give us all equal opportunities in Devon no matter who we are or where we live. We are pleased that this strategy has been created so that we can all work together better.”

“We want every child in Devon to have the best outcomes, to live an independent and healthy life and to achieve their full potential. To do that, we need to make sure that the voice of children and young people is at the heart of everything we do.”
Donna Manson
Devon County Council’s Chief Executive
