Two Four Group, Plymouth

Two Four enjoy best of both worlds

“The South West is part of our heritage and post production will remain here. All of the board directors live within 30 miles of Plymouth – we have made a lifestyle choice to live and work here. It’s a nice part of the world.” “The quality of a successful business also needs to be about quality of life and that’s what Devon offers. It’s a staggeringly beautiful part of the world. There are a number of things that make us different – one being that we are one of the biggest production companies outside of London. By having a split operation in London and Plymouth we have the best of both worlds.”

Charles Wace - Twofour Group CEO

Founded just over 25 years ago, Twofour has become one of the leading independent television producers in Britain with an annual turnover of £50 million. Working in a variety of different genres – producing all manner of well-known shows ranging from Educating Essex to Harry’s Arctic Heroes – they currently have 30 series in production in both the US and UK.

twofour-studiosDespite having offices in London, the US and the Middle East, their HQ remains in Estover in Plymouth, and 300 out of  480 employees are in the South West. Importantly their 35,000 sq ft HQ is home to more than 20 edit suites; something which would be difficult to achieve in London according to Charles Wace, Group Chief Executive of Twofour ,who insists that the company’s ties to Devon and the South West are an integral part of the business.

Twofour continue to go from strength to strength, and have recieved a sucession of industry awards including Broadcast Digital Magazine’s ‘Best Indie Production Company’ in 2010,  a National Royal Television Society award in 2012 for Channel 4’s Graffiti Wars and most recently a Broadcast Digital Award for their documentary on Bradley Wiggins.
