Local football and rugby events

If you’re off to watch your local football or rugby team you can avoid the fuss of driving and parking costs by travelling by bus or train.


Getting there by bus
There are three match-day specials which operate three hours before kick-off and for three hours after the final whistle.

  • Dartline Coaches Service 77, to/from Alphington (Chantry Meadows) to Sandy Park Stadium, via Cowick Lane, Cowick Street (First & Last), Fore Street (BHS) and Topsham Road (County Hall). Buses run every 20 minutes.
  • Dartline Coaches Service 78, to/from Exeter St David’s Station to Sandy Park Stadium, via City Centre, Blackboy Road, Pinhoe Road, Sainsburys Pinhoe, Monkerton Link Road and Sowton Industrial Estate. See Service 77/78 for a full timetable.
  • Stagecoach Service C to/from Exeter St David’s Station to Sandy Park Stadium via Exeter Bus Station and Heavitree Somerfield. See Service C for a full timetable.

Getting there by train
Exeter to Exmouth railway line runs right past the stadium with a regular service on match days. Using the bridge over the A379, Digby & Sowton Station is less than 10 minutes walk from Sandy Park. See First Great Western for a full timetable.


Getting there by bus
Plymouth Citybus operate a number of special services to/from Home Park stadium. See Plymouth Citybus for full details. Service 83 to/from Tavistock, Yelverton and Crownhill to Plymouth also stops close to the stadium.

Getting there by bus
St James Stadium is in easy reach of Exeter bus station (approx 5 mins walk) and is also served by Exeter City services E, F1 & F2. If you are travelling from outside Exeter you can use any of the three Park & Ride services to the City Centre which is around a 5/10 min walk away. Use our Interactive Bus Map

Getting there by train
Exeter to Exmouth railway line runs right past the stadium, with the nearest stop at St James Park via Exeter Central station (15 min walk). See First Great Western for a full timetable.


Surfing and Cycling

If you’re planning a day out surfing or cycling in North Devon why not leave the car at home, sit back and relax on the B1 Surf and Cycle bus!

The downstairs of this accessible double-decker bus contains racking that is suitable for storing surf boards and bicycles with the upstairs providing seating for up to 47 passengers.

The service operates daily to/from Barnstaple to Woolacombe, via Braunton, Saunton, Croyde and Georgeham Cross from 1st June to 30th September 2012.
