With three miles of golden sands, Woolacombe is a popular beach with families and surfers. As well as facilities on the beach, there are a selection of shops and cafés in Woolacombe village.
Bus 31 links Ilfracombe with Woolacombe, while the 303 runs from Barnstaple to Woolacombe.
Another North Devon sandy beach backed by sand dunes. The village of Croyde is also well worth a visit, with its pretty thatched cottages. Don’t forget to try the homemade ice cream!
The 308 bus links Barnstaple and Braunton with Croyde Bay.
Saunton Sands is a three mile long expanse of sandy beach backed by impressive sand dunes. This is a popular beach with surfers and ideal for families.
