Christmas workshop: All wrapped up
Who is this course for?
Create beautiful bespoke Wrapping Paper and Tag designs for that personal touch this Christmas.
Create a unique seasonal motif, by drawing or sewing onto paper or fabric.
Be ready to wrap those presents!
Draw and/or sew new motifs to create bespoke wrapping paper and tag designs.
Improve your tracing or freehand drawing skills.
Improve your sewing skills.
Support and feedback
The tutor will ensure that you have a good understanding of what you will be doing during the lesson.
They will also support you when needed with technical and creative elements of the lesson.
There will also be plenty of opportunities for the tutor to give you supportive feedback on the work that you have done and the techniques and styles that you may wish to use/practice.
Additional costs and requirements
All levels are welcome. Paper for wrapping and tags will be provided.
Please bring tracing paper and a sketchpad.
A drawing pencil, rubber, scissors, glue stick.
Coloured pencils or watercolours and a brush and water pot.
Permanent marker pens (any colours and with fine nibs).
Also bring seasonal images that inspire you.
Bring fabric offcuts, such as felt, cotton, and a needle and thread. If you have spare embellishments, ribbons, string and wool bring them along too!
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
About the tutor
With Deborah as your tutor, expect enthusiasm and passion for the subjects’ taught, in a calming, inclusive, fun and inspiring environment. You will have time to enjoy the creative process, learn new skills, improve your mental and physical wellbeing and gain motivation to progress and achieve your personal best.
Deborah graduated from Saint Martin’s School of Art with a BA (Hons) Degree in Graphic Design and also achieved an MA Degree in Graphic Design, at Central Saint Martin’s. She has gained many unique experiences, collaborating with other artists and designers.
Deborah is from the West Country, where she runs her own Art, Craft, Design and Horticulture business. She is a practising artist, designer and gallery owner. She has exhibited and sold art work in the South West of England, Scotland and London.
She has recently won a Gold Award for Garden Design and has created Art and Design work for the BBC and MTV. She has also worked at the Tate Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Deborah has been interviewed on BBC Radio about her creative approach to teaching courses, where she passionately promotes the creative use and benefits of sustainable materials, especially plants. Her Sketch, Sculpt and Plant Walks are multi-sensory and interactive in the natural environment. Her work transcends the boundaries of genre and media: it’s thought-provoking work about the pressing concerns of the day and is often refreshingly humorous.
Deborah has a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, from the University of London, Institute of Education, specialising in Art and Design. She is a qualified teacher of Art, Craft, Design and Horticulture. She has taught learners of all ages and abilities, for many years. She has been a Head of Art and Design. She teaches across Primary, Secondary, Alternative Provision, and Adult and Community education.
