Who is this course for?
For anyone interested in making a homemade wreath for Christmas.
You will use greenery from your garden, baubles and fabric scraps to make a wreath to decorate your front door or home for Christmas.
Support and feedback
The tutor will give you support and feedback to ensure you make the most of the time on the course.
Additional costs and requirements
Please bring any evergreen shrubbery from your garden, baubles, fabric, braids and bows to decorate your wreath.
You may be eligible for a learner bursary if you can demonstrate that attending a course will improve your wellbeing. Eligibility is determined after a short interview with a member of our learning support team. You must be aged over 19 on 31 August 2019 and your household income below £16.009.50 to access this fund. Contact your local centre for more details.
Will I have to do anything outside of the session?
No but you may want to continue with the skills you have learnt.
About the tutor
Nicky Montagu is an Art, Craft and Design tutor for Learn Devon and teaches study skills at Petroc college. She has taught on many different courses in London as an Art and Design Lecturer, including Richmond upon Thames College and London College of Fashion. She graduated from the University of East London with a BA Hons Degree in Fine Art and gained a PGCE teacher training at the University of Greenwich.
Nicky is interested in many different areas of art, craft and design including textiles, printing, sewing, manipulating fabrics, pattern and form in ceramics, interior design and printmaking.
Nicky aims to devise courses that are suitable for all levels from complete beginners to learners with more experience and where possible learners can continue their work at home with minimum need for specialist materials.
