Overnight road closures for M5 Junction 29 upgrade
Posted on: 5 September 2012
Road users are advised that the A30 Eastbound carriageway will be closed for several nights this month as part of Devon County Council’s ongoing improvement scheme at the M5 Junction 29.
The closures will be in place from 8pm to 6am on the nights of the Monday 10 to Friday 14 September, Monday 17 September to Wednesday 19 September as well as Thursday 27 September and Friday 28 September. The closures will enable contractor South West Highways Ltd to resurface the A30 eastbound and to carry out other work on the junction.
The diversion for A30 eastbound traffic is from Moor Lane Roundabout via Moor Lane, Moto Roundabout, Junction 30 Sandygate Roundabout, A376, A3052, Half Way Inn, B3180 to Daisymount Junction. This diversion will be signed using a solid black square symbol.
Traffic wishing to join the M5 northbound at Junction 29, will follow this diversion from Moor Lane Roundabout to Sandygate Roundabout and then join the M5.
For M5 northbound traffic the Junction 29 northbound off slip will be open but the eastbound (Honiton bound) spur of this will be closed and so traffic wishing to go east will follow the diversion route from Moor Lane roundabout to Junction 30 Sandygate and onwards to Daisymount Junction.
M5 southbound traffic will follow the diversion route to Junction 30 and travel east or west along the diversion route towards Daisymount Junction or Moor Lane Roundabout.
The M5 southbound on-slip will also be closed for two nights from 8pm to 6am for resurfacing and road marking work on Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 September.
Westbound A30 traffic wishing to get onto the M5 southbound will be diverted via Moor Lane Roundabout, Moor Lane and Moto Roundabout to Junction 30 Sandygate Roundabout to continue their journey.
