On-street pay and display parking
On-street pay and display schemes help manage traffic demand, improve the turnover of parking spaces to encourage footfall to local businesses and reduce the volume of traffic looking for a free parking space.
Providing and effectively enforcing on-street parking helps us work towards the objectives in our Local Transport Plan. [link to plan]
Money made through on-street parking schemes funds our Civil Parking Enforcement operation, [link to How parking is regulated] and helps to develop local transport schemes across the county.
Details of the charges for that parking zone and the times when the charges apply will be on each pay and display machine and may also be on signage nearby. Unless otherwise stated charges apply on all Bank Holidays, except Christmas Day.
