Between 2017 and 2020 GCSEs in England changed. You can refer to a government campaign website about the GSCE changes for more information.

Statistics from May 2010 onwards are available on GOV.UK. The following statistical analyses are available:

  • GCSE and equivalent results, including characteristics.
  • GCSE and equivalent results.
  • Attainment by pupil characteristics.
  • Secondary school performance tables.
  • Pupil attainment progress.

16 to 19 attainment

Statistics on the attainment of 16- to 19-year-olds in England, including exam results and performance tables. The following statistics are available:

  • A levels and other 16 to 18 results.
  • 16 to 18 school and college performance tables.
  • Qualification success rates.
  • The proportion of courses completed at school and academy sixth forms.
  • Level 1 and 2 attainment.
  • Level 2 and 3 attainment.

T Levels

Introduction of T levels

T Levels are new courses that follow GCSEs and are equivalent to 3 A levels. These two-year courses, which launched in September 2020, have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for work, further training or study. T Levels offer students a mixture of classroom learning and ‘on-the-job’ experience during an industry placement of at least 315 hours (approximately 45 days).
