Devon’s SEND Local Offer

Volunteering

Why volunteer?

Volunteering offers numerous benefits for young people with SEND, including:

  • skill development – gain new skills and experience in various fields
  • career exploration – try out different career ideas and find out what interests you
  • confidence building – boost your confidence and independence
  • networking – meet new people and develop a network of contacts
  • community engagement – give back to your community and make a positive impact
  • health and wellbeing – stay active and healthy while having fun

Devon Voluntary Action (DeVA) is a service that helps people volunteer locally. They aim to make volunteering in Devon as easy as possible for everyone, no matter what your age or background.

Devon Connect is a free community resource for anyone wanting to share or find information about volunteering opportunities, activities and events across Devon.

For more information about volunteering in your community visit the community self-help schemes and volunteering page.
