Minor changes to the design of the A382 MRN highway improvement scheme: Stover Golf Club entrance.
To move the public entrance to Stover Golf Club from its existing location on the A382 to Forest Road as per attached drawing A11029/209C.
The existing location of the access to Stover Golf Club results in traffic slowing on the main A382 and introduces right turning traffic. This can lead to collisions due to insufficient clearance times, which increases driver frustration and risk-taking behaviour when crossing the carriageway. The proposal would also reduce idling times, having an environmental benefit to the local area.
This entrance location would also enable residents staying within the Ilford Park development to have improved access to Stover Golf Club, providing a safe walking route to and from the site.
Local consultation has been undertaken by way of a Planning Application for the new entrance.
Previous considerations of the A382 MRN scheme (Cabinet October 2021) have included the entrance at its existing location on the A382.
None.
When Cabinet approved on 13 October 2021 the progression of the A382 scheme, the cabinet agreed to delegate minor design changes to effectively Meg Booth in consultation with the Cabinet and Local Member. A copy of Cllr Davis, Cllr Gribble and Cllr Bullivant’s approval can be provided upon request.
