St Michael’s C of E Primary, Kingsteignton – Block 01 Roof improvements

Summary of Reason(s) for Decision Taken:
The sum of £70,500 has already been approved for this project. Following commencement of works and the full roof strip it became apparent that a number of timber rafters had suffered significant unforeseen water ingress and had suffered sufficient decay that warranted complete replacement. The lead gutter along the effected elevation was found to be cracked and life expired and it has been advised that complete replacement is required to prevent future water ingress. The cost of the additional work is £13,500.Approval is requested to increase the allocation for this project by £13,500 to £84,000 and this will be funded by savings on the boiler replacement project at Kentisbeare C of E Primary.
