Summary of Matter or Issue Requiring Decision:
Disposal of surplus land at Kingskerwell and sale to special purchaser.
Decision Taken:
It is recommended that two small parcels of DCC land (402m2 and 276m2) at Old Newton Rd in Kingskerswell be declared surplus and disposed of.
The decision taken is to declare the land surplus and sell to an adjoining landowner as a ‘special purchaser’ as permitted under DCCs Disposal Policy.
Summary of Reason(s) for Decision Taken:
This is residual land following the completion of the South Devon link road (Kingskerswell by-pass) scheme for which DCC has no further use.
This disposal will permit DCC to regularise the boundary.
A sale to an adjoining landowner is in accordance with DCCs Constitution.
DCCs property provider, NPS SW Ltd will value the land and recommend a sale price to DCC.
Summary of Alternatives or Options considered and rejected:
To retain the land and maintain at DCC expense. The land would be of little or limited use to any party other than an adjoining landowner.
