Summary of Matter or Issue Requiring Decision:
Decision to extend the current Community Equipment Services for adults and children and associated services (Minor adaptations)
To include a variation for service provision on a Saturday (PM)
Decision Taken:
To extend the contract for a further 12 months from 1 October to 30th September 2016 with the incumbent provider PLUSS. There is also the availability of 3 x 2 month extensions should they be required.
To vary the contract to include the provision of Saturday Service with the incumbent provider PLUSS.
Summary of Reason(s) for Decision Taken:
To ensure continuity of service provision, whilst service is competed
Summary of Alternatives or Options considered and rejected:
No other alternatives were considered regarding an extension.
The alternative for the variation is not to undertake Saturday service, however this will be part of the new service when awarded and will assist in timely hospital discharge of patients/service users over the weekend period.
Details of any conflict of interest and dispensation granted to the Officer taking the decision or by any Member of the Council in delegating responsibility for any specific express delegation:
No conflict of interest. The market has been informed of the future intentions of DCC and CCGs to re tender the Community Equipment service and associated services. (Telecare, minor adaptations and Speech and Language equipment)
