Domestic Violence and Abuse Training

The Alliance has developed and delivers many training programmes across Devon. These are accessible to all front-line workers and managers in Devon at subsidised rates. Agencies outside Devon may also attend these courses however delegates will be charged the full cost.

Courses are delivered by a specialist team of trainers who have been delivering domestic violence and abuse training in Devon for over 5 years.

Courses available include:

  • Tackling Domestic Violence & Abuse (1 x day Foundation Course – formerly known as ‘Level 1’)
  • The MARAC Process in Devon – Increasing Safety for Victims of Domestic Violence and Abuse
  • Tackling Abusive Behaviour – Taking Responsibility (formerly Tackling Perpetrators of Domestic Violence and Abuse)
  • Managers Tackling Domestic Violence & Abuse – the Links to Duty of Care

The aim of these programmes is to raise awareness and explore potential ways of dealing with the issue in your professional practice. However, you need to be aware that the subject matter is powerful and can at times be challenging. It would be advisable to discuss attendance on the course with your manager so you can jointly identify any support needs that you might have.

Sexual Violence and Abuse Training

Support for young people and child safeguarding training

  • Domestic Violence & Abuse – The Impact on Children (2 x day Accredited Programme – formerly known as ‘Level 2’)
  • Child Sexual Abuse – (2 day interagency course)
  • Child Sexual Exploitation— Group 3 (1 day) and Group 4 (1 day) inter-agency courses available
