Devon’s SEND Local Offer

Our Delivery Plan: ​Academic year 2024/25​


This page will be regularly updated as our SEND Transformation Programme develops over time.

By the end of the autumn term (December 2024) we will:

  • regularly use feedback surveys to capture the experience of families during the Education Health and Care assessment and review processes.
  • improve the systems, processes and tools used to support Education Health and Care needs assessments​ and reviews based on feedback
  • publish a SEND sufficiency strategy​ and plan
  • publish phase two of the Ordinarily Available Inclusive Provision (OAIP) framework​
  • improve the navigation and accessibility of the Devon SEND Local Offer website​
  • improve the content of the Devon SEND Local Offer website, with a specific focus on information about SEND and the levels of support available, the Education Health and Care assessment and review processes and information about preparing for adulthood.
  • have a clear approach to monitoring the delivery of the strategy

By the end of the spring term (April 2025) we will:

  • organise, check and prioritise the waiting lists for autism assessment​
  • deliver a new support offer for children and families on the waiting list for clinical assessments, including the introduction of key workers and a parent peer-led programme​
  • ​publish a new online all-age Neurodiversity Hub​
  • deliver support to selected primary schools to meet needs of neurodiverse children and those with speech language and communication needs​
  • redesign Devon County Council’s education services​
  • start collecting feedback from families on their experience of all services and organisations using the Four Cornerstones

By the end of the summer term (July 2025) we will:

  • create an additional 100 places in further education colleges for young people with SEND
