Help with childcare costs for school-age children


You could get support with your childcare costs for your school-age child through:

  • Tax-Free Childcare
  • Funded care and education for three and four-year-olds (if they are not yet in a reception class and are under statutory school age)
  • Extended Entitlement (if they are not yet in a reception class and are under statutory school age)
  • Care to Learn
  • NHS Bursaries
  • MOD Wraparound Childcare (WAC) Scheme
  • Universal Credit
  • Childcare element of Working Tax Credit
  • Further Education Discretionary Learner Support
  • Higher Education Grants
  • Employer Childcare Vouchers

Each method of support has different eligibility criteria.

If your child has disabilities or special educational needs, some help with childcare costs is available until their 17th birthday.
