A new way to access family hubs
Our vision
Increasing support for families and ensuring families can access support within their local communities and in ways that are flexible.
Accessing the service
The service will be moving to a single session approach, where families can receive immediate support and advice in a single session.
More accessibility via a digital and enhanced delivery approach
The service will provide a range of options for families to access help, making it easier for them to get the support they need.
FAQs
More about how the Family Hubs service will be changing
- Will the group I go to still be available?
Some group sessions that are currently delivered in Family Hub locations will change, with families who have complex needs being referred to other community-based services through the new system from April.
However, while the service moves in-house to DCC, families will still be able to receive support with;
- Requests for support
- Household support fund
- Continuing access to existing groups run by the community where these continue to be run
- Continuing groups that will be run by DCC such as Step by Step and Lets Talk & Play
- Parental conflict programme
- Locality triage
- Will I still need to go to a community centre to access support
No, from April, families will begin to see a new community-focused service developing that will continue to improve access to support, bringing together education, public health, NHS, early years, community and voluntary sector groups. Parents will be directed to them in settings closer to home in their own communities.
