Welcome to Devon Fostering

Do you have the dedication to make vulnerable young lives better and a spare room? Why not make a career with Devon Fostering?

We are recruiting new carers to provide children and young people in Devon who can’t live with their birth families with safe and stable homes.

By choosing a career in fostering, you can make a massive change to a child’s life. It’s a big decision for any family to take but the rewards are immeasurable for everyone involved.

If you’re optimistic, energetic, a good listener and love the pace of a hectic full life, then you could be just the person we are looking for to join our team of outstanding local carers.

Why foster with Devon Fostering?

Our team of foster carers deliver the highest standard of care for some of Devon’s most vulnerable children, and benefit from specially tailored practical, emotional and financial support from our staff.

We alone are ultimately responsible for the 700 plus children in care in Devon, so why foster with anyone else?

As part of Devon County Council, we operate strictly as a not-for-profit service, keeping Devon’s children at the very heart of everything we do. Sometimes, due to a shortage of carers, we have to place children with private fostering agencies. This is costly to the local authority and means that we have less money to spend on the children that need it most. More importantly, there is no evidence that care provided by these independent agencies is better than our carers.
