November

Sunday 28: 10am – 4pm

Volunteers day – grassland management

We will be cutting and raking last year’s herbage in preparation for the spring. This will benefit the flowering plants and butterfly species such as the pearl-bordered fritillary.

December

Tuesday 14: 7pm – 9pm

Stover Christmas carols

Join us for our popular outdoor Christmas Carols event. Bring a candle or torch, join in the festivities and give your vocal chords an airing. Join the Newton Abbot Salvation Army Band and sing carols around the bonfire in the picnic area. A hot mulled drink and mince pies are provided.

Booking essential – tickets are £4 per person.  Under 3’s go free and do not need a ticket.

Monday 20: 10:30am – 3:30pm

Children’s Christmas trail

Follow a self-led family trail around the Country Park to find all of Stover’s Christmas friends. Collect a wooden medal at the end to take home and decorate. Allow 60 – 90 minutes to complete the trail. Please bring your own pencil or crayon.

There will be four bookable slots (please ensure you arrive within your one-hour time slot): 10:30am to 11:30am, 11:30am to 12:30pm, 1:30pm to 2:30pm and 2:30pm to 3:30pm.

Booking essential – tickets are £3.50 per child. Please book in advance through Eventbrite.


Charges

Guided walks along with family and children’s events are free unless a price is stated. However, there are limited places that must be booked in advance.

It is essential that children booked onto an activity have a responsible adult present with a maximum of 4 children per adult.

There is a car parking charge of £1.70 for 2 hours and £3.50 for all day. Charges apply from dawn till dusk.

Volunteers day

Why not join our growing army of conservation volunteers on the last Sunday of every month between September and April. Tasks are varied and all tools are provided. No special skills are needed – just bring along lunch and old clothes.
