Ethnic minority and traveller support

Devon Ethnic Minority and Traveller Achievement Service (EMTAS) is a dedicated multi-ethnic and multilingual team, with over 20 years’ experience of working closely with Devon schools to remove barriers and inequalities in attainment and achievement.By working alongside you we can help your school to improve educational outcomes for children and young people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and Traveller heritages, as well as those learning English as an additional language. (EAL) We provide expert advice, guidance and training to help raise attainment and close the performance gap for these children and young people from BAME and Traveller groups. Our approach is flexible and responsive, giving you the right level of support when you need it.

Ukraine support schemes

The UK Home Office had launched a Ukraine Family Scheme visa – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) and Homes for Ukraine Scheme. The details of the schemes are announced on GOV.UK so please follow the updates.

Afghanistan crisis

The UK government launched a new national resettlement scheme for Afghan Refugees. The Afghanistan Citizens’ Resettlement Scheme is a new scheme that will welcome 5,000 Afghan citizens in year one, with up to a total of 20,000 in the long term.
