Communication and engagement

Providing up-to-date guidance, information and advice to the general public and stakeholders is a vital element of the plan.

While much of the guidance and messaging is currently derived from central government and Public Health England the interpretation and the localisation of the main messaging has often been required.

To avoid confusion and ensure consistency in the messaging from important local organisations it is vital that the local message and communication channels are agreed.

Engaging and involving important stakeholders and individuals in the development and delivery of the message is also a crucial part of the plan.

A communications lead will sit on the Local Outbreak Health Protection Board and Local Outbreak Engagement Board in an advisory capacity to provide support.

We are developing a communications and engagement strategy which will be used to build trust and confidence within the general public and partners.
