By giving your time to help others can increase your own confidence and get a sense of satisfaction and achievement. Volunteering is a great way to make new friends, gain new skills, help others and may even lead to future employment.

vInspired is the UK’s leading volunteering charity for 14 – 25 year olds. vInspired helps young people to make their mark on causes that they care about, whilst learning new skills and talents along the way.

St Petrock’s

Based in Exeter, St Petrock’s have been providing a first-point-of-contact for the city’s homeless for over 20 years. They are always looking for people to help out preparing and serving meals to those in need support and welcome any skills you may able to offer.

Age UK are the largest charity working with older people in the country, and offer some of the most easily accessible volunteer roles. Whether  supporting local projects or making a simple once-a-week phone call, you can really help improve someone’s life.

Befriender Network

The people most suited to befriending are those who are interested in other people, are good listeners, are reliable, and have 2-3 hours to commit each week. Often previous experience is not needed. It’s more about who you are than what you’ve done
