Find environmental volunteering opportunities

Student volunteering

vInspired is the UK’s leading volunteering charity for 14 – 25 year olds. vInspired helps young people to make their mark on causes that they care about, whilst learning new skills and talents along the way.

Employers are looking for candidates who stand out from the crowd, who have developed their skills, abilities and ambitions and who are not afraid to get involved. Volunteering and extra-curricular activities can help you achieve and demonstrate this.

Little Valley Animal Shelter

Little Valley animal shelter is just to the west of Exeter and has been run by the RSPCA for over 25 years. The shelter rehomes 1000 of the area’s most vulnerable animals every year and welcomes all the help it can get in carrying out this vital work.

Moor Trees

Moor trees are a local organisation replanting native trees across Dartmoor. They have planted 60,000 trees since being founded, and aim to restore Dartmoor’s lost forests and help local wildlife flourish. No previous experience is needed to volunteer and it’ s a great way to get outdoors, exercise and meet new people while helping preserve Devon’s beautiful natural environment.

Devon Wildlife Trust

Volunteering with Devon Wildlife Trust is a great way to use your skills and experience to make a difference for Devon’s wildlife. And you don’t have to be an expert to get involved!

Devon Voluntary Action

Devon Voluntary Action is a Devon-wide partnership that offers help, advice and support to voluntary and community sector groups. They also have a constantly updated webpage showcasing hundreds of volunteer opportunities across the county.

South West Lakes Trust

Volunteers make a significant contribution to the work of the Trust – whether that’s helping out with environmental improvements, raising site standards or supporting our activity centres.

Wlaking for Health

Walking for Health

Volunteers help others to discover walking and they’re highly regarded by other walkers up and down the country. As a volunteer, you can develop a range of new skills. You could discover how to be a great leader. Or find out more about marketing and promotion. Or you could enhance your database or communication skills.

Find a volunteering opportunity near you. Do-it.org is the UK’s national volunteering database, Do-it.org makes it easy for anyone to volunteer in their community.
