Not everyone with a disability needs support, but those who do will benefit from a community that cares. From helping with people's mobility, to teaching new skills, to simply being a friend to rely on, there are loads of ways you can get involved and make a difference.

Student volunteering

vInspired is the UK’s leading volunteering charity for 14 – 25 year olds. vInspired helps young people to make their mark on causes that they care about, whilst learning new skills and talents along the way.

Employers are looking for candidates who stand out from the crowd, who have developed their skills, abilities and ambitions and who are not afraid to get involved. Volunteering and extra-curricular activities can help you achieve and demonstrate this.

Guide Dogs provide blind or partially sighted people with the mobility and help they need to live their life how they choose. Volunteers can help care for dogs, guide the partially sighted and fundraise among many other roles, all while making a real positive impact on someone’s life.

Living Options Devon

Living Options Devon always welcomes the help of willing volunteers, whether it be helping with fundraising, general admin around the office or covering reception. They can also offer work experience placements for students looking to experience a role in an office environment or experience of working with disabled or Deaf people.
