Engaging Devon – Strategy

Devon County Council’s strategy for engaging effectively

Introduction

This strategy explains how we will engage across the whole of our activities, ensuring opportunities that exist to work with our partners on engagement activities are taken whenever possible.

We wish to engage and work more closely with the communities we serve, our partners and other local organisations – such as the voluntary and community sector, health, police, fire and other councils and agencies – to develop services.

We have adopted widely recognised engagement values, shown in the Involving People diagram under section 2.What is ‘effective engagement’?. We hope through developing this strategy our partners and other local organisations may work together to develop a common approach.

This engagement strategy links to our Strategic Plan called Backing Devon. For us to support Devon effectively we must engage with the people of Devon effectively.
