3. Why do we engage?

We engage with the public, service users and carers, as well as those who work for us or closely with us, to develop services for people in the right way and with the money available.

We have a statutory duty to do so, this is known as the ‘duty to consult’, as well as other legal responsibilities, but we also want to engage because it is the right thing to do.
