You can apply for a bus pass online or by completing a paper application.
Before you start
A bus pass is available to anyone (male or female) who has reached the female State Pension age.

Bus passes are also available to people with certain disabilities. If you are applying for a bus pass based on disability (and you are not eligible for a pass based on your age), you will need to provide us with proof of your disability.
To successfully apply for a bus pass you will need to be able to provide the following information:
Proof that you live in Devon
This could be one of the following:
- Council Tax bill
- Rental or tenancy agreement
- Utility bill
- Driving licence
- NHS medical card
- Bank statement
- Polling card
- Medical appointment letter on headed paper
Proof of your age
This could be one of the following:
- Birth certificate
- Passport
- Driving licence
- Department for Work and Pensions letter confirming receipt of state retirement pension
- Pension credit letter
If you are applying online you can use a digital camera, smartphone, or tablet to take a photo of a document or use a scanner. If you already have a digital version of a document, it will need to be a png, jpg or PDF file.
If you plan to complete a paper application form please send us photocopies of original documents.
A passport-style photo
Make sure the photo:
- has a plain, light background
- includes your shoulders
- shows your face clearly
- is in colour

If your application is approved your pass will be posted to your home address. Please allow 5-10 working days to receive your pass.
If your application is refused you will be contacted in writing with an explanation of why or a request for further information.
