Advanced social worker
As an advanced social worker (ASW), you will provide professional leadership and supervision to colleagues within your team, supporting the team manager with your team’s day-to-day operations and contributing to effective and efficient services.
The role of an ASW is very hands-on. You have a smaller caseload, working with children and families with a complexity of needs (including undertaking in-depth assessments) and where, through supervision and mentoring, you will share your knowledge and experience with colleagues.
Our ASWs help champion high professional social work practice standards by encouraging and supporting opportunities for reflection and learning. By delivering on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to unqualified/alternatively qualified staff, students, and less experienced social workers.
