Family Information Service

Our family information service has lots of useful information for parents and carers of 0-19-year-olds and is the definitive source of registered childcare in Devon.

They can also provide information on other services and support for children, young people and parents from finding you local children’s centre or parent and toddler groups to family and parenting support and helping you search for activities or places to go.

Help to find suitable childcare

Maybe the available childcare is full or you live in a small rural community where there is no childcare, you need childcare for weekends or evenings, your child has an additional need or you don’t find it easy to contact the childcarers for yourself.

If you are having problems finding the childcare you need, our childcare brokerage service may be able to help.

We can advise, search and sometimes negotiate with childcare providers on your behalf, to help you find the childcare you need. We will ask you about your childcare needs, the age of the child(ren) you need childcare for and where you need it, whether you or your children have any particular needs or difficulties and what you have tried so far.

We have a duty to ensure there is enough childcare to meet parent’s needs. If you haven’t been able to find the childcare you need please tell us using our online form, by calling 01392 383000 and asking for Pinpoint or emailing pinpoint@devon.gov.uk.

If you are concerned that a child is being abused please call

or email mash@devon.gov.uk.
