Family Group Conference Plus

Our nationally accredited Family Group Conference Service has been established for several years and we have recently expanded to build on the work we can offer when working directly with families.

The Way We Talk

Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic and social isolation has resulted in increased trauma on children/young people and their families with negative psychological effects including confusion, anger and symptoms of post-traumatic stress.

Children in Care

Children and young people under 18 years old who do not live with their parents or family are known as 'looked after children' or 'children in care'. Devon County Council has legal responsibility for these children as a 'corporate parent'.  

Adoption

Adopt South West aims to find safe, secure, permanent homes for children who are unable to live with their birth families

Youth Services

Devon's youth services are run by Space*, an independent not-for-profit social enterprise focused on delivering the best services for young people in our communities.

Youth Offending Service

The Youth Offending Service work with young people who get into trouble with the law. They are made up of a team of specialists, including: social workers probation officers police officers

Youth Enquiry Service

Young Devon run Youth Enquiry Service (YES) centres across Devon. They offer young people free and confidential advice and support on everything from housing, welfare and travel to getting into work or training, relationships, alcohol and drugs and health and wellbeing.

Libraries have the unlimited potential to make a positive difference to people’s lives with free access to thousands of books, eBooks, audiobooks, online reference, music and magazines as well as numerous events and activities for all the family to enjoy.

Learn Devon

Delivers high-quality adult and community learning courses on behalf of Devon County Council to support the personal, social, health and economic development of individuals and communities.

Early Years and childcare

High quality early years, childcare and children centre provision should be available and accessible to all families with young children.
