VOYC Devon

VOYC Devon provide advice, guidance, support and training for voluntary, community and not for profit groups that work with children and young people.

Are you or do you know a group that works with children and young people?

How many times have there been operational, administrative or practical issue around the work that you do with children and young people and you’ve thought ‘if only I could pick up the phone and ask a question or get some trusted advice or support?

When those situations arise, think VOYC!

VOYC Devon has been representing children, young people and families in the community and voluntary sector since 1968, but there are still many groups that don’t know about the benefits of joining this free network.

VOYC offer advice, support and guidance to groups around setting up, running and maintaining safe, inclusive, lawful policies and practice. We also offer a successful programme of child protection and safeguarding training as well a series of topical enrichment workshops to help volunteers and practitioners with their Continuing Professional Development.

Our network is incredibly diverse ranging from faith groups, sports clubs and youth clubs to student unions, arts associations and town councils.

Just some of the ways that we can help:

  • Support you to undertake safeguarding audits to check that your group is safe and compliant.
  • Provide guidance around safe volunteering.
  • Level 1, 2 and 3 safeguarding and child protection training.
  • Represent the voice and interests of voluntary groups at a strategic, countywide level.

VOYC Devon is a long term partner with the Devon Children and Families Partnership, offering approved child protection and safe recruitment training for the voluntary, community and not-for-profit sector.

We offer a weekly e-newsletter sent direct to members, which is considered essential reading by many workers, professionals, volunteers and leaders in our network. We explore a number of high profile issues that affect children and young people in Devon such as domestic violence, safeguarding, online safety and mental health.
