Our lives with COVID-19

The right to be heard

Continuing to listen, hear and understand the views of children and young people, their parents and carers and the community and voluntary sector is vital to our ongoing response to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Children and young people in Devon have told us that they feel the government has not considered or represented them during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Young people and parents have led a series of conversations, forums and follow-up groups and are engaged in our recovery plans – including economic, skills work and training as well as the arrangements for the Local Engagement Board of the Local Outbreak Management Plan.

By determining our priorities, developing services and agreeing resources together we are more resilient in our response and recovery.
